Bill Arras  > Other > America's Challenge, October 2004
We launched from Albuquerque, NM and flew 218 miles to the panhandle of Oklahoma before we had to land because of a wall of thunderstorms. It was an outrageously beautiful flight, from the sunrise just south of Taos, NM, to drifting over the mountains bespeckled with Autumn color, even to the threatening clouds we skirted around at almost 18,000' and hoped wouldn't develop further and engulf us. The kids who arrived after a gentle landing in Oklahoma topped off a beautiful flight.
