After returning to the US from England, I spent some fine Spring days with friends in NYC and in Connecticut with my mom, then flew to Brazil. The first phase of the good times in Brazil was a balloon event down south in Torres, followed by some special days on boats in the area of Angra dos Reis, courtesy of Bruno & Sophie, with their French family & friends. A visit to Brazil is not complete without spending time in Rio, which this time included a walk up Corcovado and into the clouds to visit Christ, followed by a free concert of some of Brazil‘s top singers on beach in front of the Copacabana Palace Hotel. There was also a very important side trip to visit with my host families of 36 years ago in Juiz de Fora, a couple hours north of Rio. For many reasons, every day I'm reminded of how fortunate I am. Being in Brazil seems to really bring that to the forefront. I'm thankful that Brazil continues to play such a big part in my life since that first visit so long ago.
