In September of 2005, David, Drew, Janet and I went to Chamonix, France, a favorite place of mine. After settling in, we spent 5 fantastic days climbing with two local guides, culminating in a successful climb of 15,781’ Mt. Blanc. Each morning began with coffee and pastries in our favorite patisserie before taking the tram up to the Aiguille du Midi, at a breath-taking 12,605’. From there we trained, practicing techniques and climbing together in the fantasy-land of the French Alps. Late afternoons were spent relaxing in village cafes. The evening of our climb was spent at the Cosmique Refuge, where we were treated to a surreal sunset and then sunrise before taking the tram back to town the next day after the final climbing. We had a very special time!
