Six weeks after the surgery to install new hardare to repair a broken ankle, my cast came off. Four days later, Gary, Jim and I headed to Idaho for a wonderful week of backpacking in the Sawtooths. They made it possible for me to join them by carrying some of my equipment and food, so I had a lighter pack than normal. They even carried some beer for me!
