Epic Ski Bumming, 2014-2015
The last time I had a season pass for skiing was in the 1980s, but this year something moved me to get an Epic Pass, good for unlimited skiing at all the Vail Corporation ski areas.
The season started off with a lot of snow early in Colorado, with mid winter-like skiing conditions before Thanksgiving and continuing well into December. Then there was a two month dry spell, during which time I was back in Oregon. Upon my return to Colorado again in late February, the snow started to fall immediately after my arrival. Lucky me! We got a total of 4' of snow during that spell, making for some really good powder skiing. Even though it has been a very slim snow year overall in the western US, I happen to have gotten some of the best of it, thanks to my Boulder friends who allow me to enjoy the use of their place in the mountains.
All the ski photos were taken one March day at Vail, except for the resort photos, including one taken at Beaver Creek.
