Hawks & Hot Springs, Bridgeport, California, December 2004
The hawks made me work to get photos of them. My little camera and it's tiny telephoto required getting closer than the hawks wanted me to be, so I had to run around chasing them all along the roadside. At least the hawks were plentiful, pretty much lining the road as Janet and I drove towards one of my favorite hot springs.
Once in the water, by adjusting the inflow of the hot water we could make each pool the exact temperature we wanted it to be. The outside air temperature was about 20°F. Yes, that's ice on the rocks in the river, which we dipped into to cool off. It's incredibly wonderful to have easy access to such beautiful natural wonders.
